Research Interest/Focus
Broadly, I am interested in the regulatory role of microRNAs
in complex biological processes. My research focuses on understanding
the functional role of microRNAs in molecular signaling pathways
that control development and tissue regeneration. Our zebrafish
model provides an excellent platform for investigating the effects
of toxicant exposure on the expression and function of regulatory
microRNAs during development. My research also exploits the regenerative
capacity of zebrafish to understand the molecular events controlling
epimorphic tissue regeneration.
